Just changed my oil with mobil 1 5w 30 and k@N oil filter.... I only put in 5 qts and the dip stick is on the F.... Is this right? the car is still on the jack stand on the passenger side... I haven't staryed the engine yet either...thanks tony

i put 6 qts and you should lower the car first

 

I just lowered it and the level is right below the F. or somewhere near there. i don't want to over fill it. thanks for the fast response..

 

start the car for like 10 sec

shut off

and check

 

I've never had to use more than 5 quarts to get the correct level...between the lo-hi marks. You should be fine. Lower it..you don't need it up anymore. Run for a few seconds to get oil into filter and block. Shut off and set for a few minutes before checking level again.

I started the car for a few min. than let it sit for a few min. and checked it. It was a little on thje low end so i added another 1/4 or so of oil maybe a little more... Its sittin pretty good now.... I can't beleive how small the oil filter is for the v8... Thants alittle weird also.... thanks again tmf

Well johonny , in the meantime while I'm waiting for the exhaust I was thinking K@N drop in or just a simple replacement air filter....Next will probably be changing the rear diff. It looks pretty easy after seeing the DIY page. Then the 3M clear bra for mirrors,bumper,hood,and fenders....
I've been looking at brakes to. Possibly brembo or powerstop slotted rotors with ebc pads..

the list could go on and on

suspension is a great place to start

take your time ask all the questions you need

but alot of stuff has been talked about

i usually do and advance search and the bump it up from 3 years ago lol

How do u install a STB without messing up the struts.. I know its like three bolts per side but how do you install it and i need one that will clear the engine cover.......Tony
