Not sure if anyone posted this. I didn't read through the whole thread yet. Anyways, the key signal is sent direct to the ECU. There should be 2 data pins on the ecu harness dedicated to the immobilizer communications. It's not like on some of the GM that have a separate immobilizer module, where you can just jump the wire and the engine will start lol.

There are some locksmiths(more specialized ones) out there with a special programmer, or I guess you can call it a code eraser. Basically they have to take the ECU apart and they probe the immobilizer chip inside the ECU and erase the code. Then you put the ECU back in the car and start over with the factory re-learning procedure. So the car basically in a condition where it will accept any key that you put in as the master. Just call around and ask if any of the locksmiths in your area can offer this service. Most of the locksmiths don't know that this is possible, hell the dealers don't even think it's possible because they don't have the special equipment. Just look around and you will find one.

The price is very costly to do a reflash for the master keys. The cheapest i've gotten to is $125 everywhere else charges 400+

Anyways I read somewhere on this forum that someone bought this OBD2 smart key maker programmer it and it worked.

Not sure but has anyone tried this thing?

Interesting, tempted to get one as I have no master key for my car yet. I only got it with a valet.

After looking at that and looking up the types of keys. I found that I would need a programmer for a 4C key (I believe it depends on the year of car). I found a seller in NY instead of over seas.

So, like many others on this thread I have lost my master key for my '03 is300 and only have the valet. Is my model able to make new master keys from the valet or do I have to have the ECM flashed and reprogrammed? The dealership is asking for crazy money and I'm trying to find a way around using them. Any info would be appreciated! Also I'm in the NY/NJ area.

^^Similar situation but I have the card key....

I'm gonna need a another master key since the one I have now was damaged. All i have left now is the valet key and the card key. Now with some research, I understand that the card key is a master and that there's a chip within the card. Can i just take this to a Lexus dealership and have them make me a new one. Or am I gonna have to get it re-programmed and be charged a grip. How does this work?
