I should be getting my GS on Thurs. or Fri. of this week. Tell me what you think of the first round of mods...

SRT Intake
L-Tuned Steering ECU
L-Tuned S/S
Daizen Sways

Looking for an improved ride and a little extra kick for right now.

looks good. are you getting the 300 or 400/430? i don't know if this is right but I think that the 400/430 comes with the l-tuned steering ECU, or am i completely wrong?

other than it, mods look pretty solid.

I'm going to the auction with a dealer friend of mine so I don't know exactly which I'll come home with, if any. It'll be a 400 or a 430 for sure. I've read a couple of different things regarding the steering ECU. That is the lowest on the list, but the 2000 platinum series I test drove felt really..."mushy?" in the steering department. I guess whatever the opposite of crisp is, that's what it felt like.

i will skip the ecu, see if you can get coilover.

daizen sways are good, and intake that's your choice

Would you recommend coilover over L-Tuned S/S and sways.
Will I get more benefit from just coilovers rather than the other combination?

If you are planning on getting aftermarket wheels and upsizing, then I'd go for coilovers. There is more flexibility. Coilovers are also lighter so your front end handling will also get better due to the reduction of the unsprung weight. I felt it when I went from L-Tuned S/S to Teins. After aftermarket wheels, you can assess whether or not you need the sways. Some will and some won't;

If you are staying with OEM wheels, although coilovers are still nicer, the L-Tuned S/S may be enough. You can then look into the sways now instead of later since you saved some $ from the coilovers.

The intake is a personal choice. The SRT is on the loud side but it is the only one that people seem to notice the power gains.

If you end up with the 400, you may want to pick up the L-Tuned ECU. It is not an absolute must have now but with L-Tuned products being discontinued, you would risk the supply running out at a later time. I am not saying that it will run out. It's just hard to predict.

Anyway, optimally, you'd want coilovers, sways, L-Tuned ECU in that order for handling. Since you only have 1 intake choice, I guess it is either yes or no. If you want it, can manage the $ and want a kick at the upper end with a louder sound, then go for it.

neo summed it all up. if you want the best performance and the flexibility of adjustment, the higher price of the coilover is well worth it. in fact, i went straight to coilover on the gs4, never even thought about s/s setup

I have the SRT intake. If you don't get a box for it as well, it's going to be loud as he11, at almost any throttle position. If you don't mind that constant Mustang-ish sound, then that's cool.

But my hunch is that you bought a Lexus, partly because it IS so quiet.

If you can, ride in a car with the SRT intake before purchasing.

I also have the Tein CS and the sways. I love the setup. Still get a little bit of roll (car is not slammed at all, only subtely lower), but it sticks like he11 and very controllable when flying around a turn, especially for how heavy the car is.

I think you're in Centreville, VA, which is not that far from me (Annapolis, MD)...relatively-speaking. Maybe we should hook up one day this spring, just so you can ride in my car and then make decisions on what's best for your car after riding in mine.

I did that, and it helped save me money over the long haul.

Has this ever been confirmed. Last I heard it was speculated but never confirmed.

Unfortunately right now it's just a blank check on my refrigerator. I just spoke to the friend who was going to take me to the auction, he says this weeks looks bad, so maybe another week delay.
