Question:

Did you loose the Audio Control buttons with this upgrade. I like the steering wheel, but loosing the buttons would be a no-no for me.

Cool, next question. Can someone like me, get a wooden steering wheel that will have the buttons, and put it on my GS. I have a feeling that my GS lacks some wood. I only have wood on the shift console, shifter sides, and door strips.

yes if you find a wood steering wheel on any 01+ gs with audio control, it's a direct swap

I guess what rominl is trying to say is that if you have an 01+ GS already WITHOUT the woodsteering, then it would be a direct swap.
All 2001+ have the audio feature on the steering wheel.
Us 2000> people don't have this feature

If people don't care for the wood (b/c it can get hot hot hot), you can just stick the chrome emblem into the L logo

I personally would not do this. For one thing, I don't think it will look as clean. Otherwise, does anyone have a pic of how the earlier airbag deploys? Here is a recent one that bumfighter posted of his ES.

It seems like the L stays in tact so if MIGHT be ok to glue an emblem there. I would not risk the chance that the chrome L glued in the middle would affect deployment or worse, potentially become a projectile during an accident. Obviously, there is a major IF clause in all this as the likelihood of things going wrong is not high (including an accident) but I'm not about to take the chance. I don't need to have the L that badly.

I agree, though, that if I did this, I would stay with the appropriate leather steering wheel and new airbag. Still, if the wood wheel was all that is available, then I wouldn't turn it down.

Thanks for the lookout neo
After I hit submit, I was going to put a caution b/c I remember another member LEXKHOST who mentioned the possible L on the forehead, and that will stand for LOSER rather than LEXUS

u might end up with a L on ur forehead. dont put anything where airbags deploy to be on safe side. the most dangerous mod i have seen is ricers with fire extinguishers mounted on the passenger pillar. . sOOOoooOo dangerous
so i can use my 01 airbags with rx wheel? what year rx wheel should i look for or it doesnt matter..?

Your wheel is the same as 01+GS3 wheels, except they have eshift and no radio controls.
If you go look on autotrader, I'd bet at least 8 out of 10 GS430 have wood wheel.
