Default GS horsepower

What's the most horsepower you can get out of a GS400/430 without FI and without doing some work on the internals.

so do you mean stock? or with TC and LSD?

Stock prolly will put down 260, maybe a little less at the rears. With the TC LSD setup, maybe aroound 280? 290?

Yep..neither a TC or LSD will increase HP. But they certainly will help in a big way putting what HP you do have to good use...

TC and / or LSD are the best bang for the buck.

Stock is more like 235 - 250 rwhp (pretty wide range based on dynos I've seen)
Modified with intake, some sort of air fuel (either SRT ECU or SAFC II for example) and exhaust, good plugs 240 -260 rwhp, couple of freaks getting up to 265 whp (and have seem others on the low scale with intake/exhaust at 235 whp)

Dave, let's say with an SRT intake with ECU, full cat back exhaust, Torquemaster plugs, torque converter, LSD and headers (if one is available), what quarter mile are we looking at?

and yea, the tc and supra tt rear end do NOT add hp to the car, so the rating stays the same but the car goes so much faster, in fact it's better than ANY other non FI mods that adds hp to the car....

Is it correct to say that a TC increases hp going to the rear wheels while the lsd increases the amount of torque?

LSD just makes both wheels recieve power instead of just one like when using a standard differential.

I dont think your description of a TC is accurate either.

when I said that TC and LSD have more HP, I meant they place more HP from the engine onto the ground at the rears. They do not add HP but simply reduce the HP lost in the amount planted onto the ground. Or that's what I always thought. I thought that the TC reduced the amound of tq lost in the planting process and the LSD made is so that power went to both wheels instead of one. I'm still a newby.
