I just got my hood and bumper repainted for $650 by freebird body and paint in corvallis, or. It's been less than 6 months and the hood already looks like total hell - a detailer said it looked like they'd put on the thinnest layer of clearcoat he'd seen. Very little gloss or depth. I had the spoiler painted by possum autobody a couple months ago - and the paint looks much deeper, thicker, glossier and shinier. Obviously they put plenty of clear on. These guys where cheaper, but did a 10x better job. So more money doesn't always mean better results - make sure you do your homework so you don't get screwed like me.

I have the same problem with my hood. Now I have to wait until I do my kit to get it fixed. It isnt that noticeable but it still bothers me.

I had the hood on my last GS painted for around $300.00 I would imagine that the bumper would be more (maybe $400.00+) due to the fact that there are more materials involved (like flex additive to keep the paint on the bumper from cracking, for example) and more labor if they remove the bumper from the car. Ask the shop how they would do the job and also ask to see some of their finished work on other vehicles if there are any sitting around the shop. This way they won't tend to think they are getting one over on a female...you know how that can be. If they don't seem willing to answer questions, go elsewhere. Good luck.

Does anyone know of any places in Atlanta? I just brought a GReddy lip and suffer from rock chips on my hood and bumper too. I want to try and get this done before the August meet.

Gamboa's Body & Frame, has 3 locations in the Sacramento area. They quoted me $700 to remove the hood, sand/strip it because of multiple paint chips and repaint in Black Onyx. Sound pricey but I know the quality of their work is first rate and repairs are guaranteed for life.
