Whoever buys that car better plan on keeping it till the wheels fall off or sell it for parts. Try to re-sell that car 20 or 30k miles later with a salvage title will be real hard.

I would like to see how much this vehicle actually sells for in the end. It's already past $15,000. Yet his reserve isn't met. I personally wouldn't take the risk.

If there is, I'd be willing to bet it's not legal to do.

Even if you do it illegally, how could the seller demonstrate that the car does not have a salvage title? The buyer is bound to run the VIN and see the registration and title history. I guess someone could hack the DMV database and get rid of the salvage title remarks.

Even though it's branded salvage title- there is a chance it could be a perfect car, for cheap. or it could have major probs.but who's willing to take the chance. zip for warranty. Imagine getting a perfect 03 GS430 w/ 3500 miles for under 20k.

I wonder how you insure it?

btw-I don't think there is any legal way to get rid of salvaged title. that just means there was a total loss declared on it.

I agree. Although his reserve was not met, and no telling what that was. I'm sure this will reappear on eBay in a couple more weeks.

Cool

If there isn't a warranty, I'd stay away from it personally.......I'm sure someone will buy it however.

wow-the bid was up to $25k and that still wasn't high as reserve. that's prob about the most I would expect it to get with a salvage title.

imho even if there is warranty somehow, the salvaged title would have kept myself away

I don't trust it.....i'd never pick it up. I'd be too paranoid about something falling off or going wrong.

Man, wish my memory would be better, but I remember reading from one of the car magazines about a modded Supra that was originally salvaged. It was brought in from out of state, but for some reason, they were able to clear the salvage title on it due to the percentage of parts that were OEM or something. There is a way to remove a salvage title for certain states (I'm sure of that)....how you would go about doing it (I'm not sure).
