Here's what your ECT does (and does not do): it changes shift points (both up and down shifting), changes throttle mapping (how much throttle you get for a given foot/pedal position), and how much throttle is required to produce a downshift.
Relative to normal position, PWR mode has more aggessive throttle mapping, holds the tranny in a given gear longer when accelerating (the GS is a very early upshifter ordinarily, no doubt to maximize EPA mileage numbers), and downshifts sooner.
SNOW mode starts in second gear and has VERY passive throttle mapping since the strategy is to minimize sudden increases in rear wheel torque in order to avoid wheel spin.
ECT can be moved from one mode to another while driving without harm. (And VSC can likewise be switched off while driving).
And since the ECU understands WOT, you get maximum response and redline shifts regardless of ECT mode (maybe not in SNOW, I've never tried that...........) when your right foot is mashed to the floor.
No nitrous, no suspension changes, no mysterious additional power, and no additional driving skills are conferred by its use.

one way to do it. put it on pwr and drive around for a long while, say a month. then on a normal day, switch it back to normal and see if you think the car becomes slower

or you could put your car in SNOW mode, then stomp on the gas, then switch back to either normal or PWR mode, then stomp on the gas....you should definitely feel the difference
