Well, I'm in the market right now for either a 98 GS300 or a 99 RX300. One of my few deciding factors is how much miles per gallon I'll be getting. I know the ratings are 20 city/25 hwy, but most of us know those numbers are never accurate. I'll probably be doing about 75% hwy and 25% city.
How many miles per gallon are you guys getting on your 98 GS300s? I guess this question applies to the 98-01 GS300s, please reply.
Thanks!

I have a '98 GS300 and I used to get 19-20 MPG, as long as I'm not in PWR mode. Last month I changed my stock tires to some 225/55ZR16 Bridgstone 730s and I'm down to 18 MPG. I love the extra performance from the Z ratings but these $33 fill-ups are really hurting.

I have a 2001 GS300 and my nav says i'm getting about 15 mpg. GREAT HUH? I'm doing all city driving, which tends to be usually 0-35, maybe 40 mph. Slamming on the gas every time I take off doesn't help either!!! I guess it just depends on the way you drive.

My NAV shows that I'm getting an average of 21 mpg, and I haven't reset it for a long time so it's a meaningful average. I don't use the PWR mode, and I do about 50/50 city/highway driving. I've noticed that if I'm doing all highway after refueling I get about 28. My numbers could be higher than the rest because I'm probably starting to drive like an old man (I'm 52).
