DIY Red Signal Light on 01'+
First - unscrew the two inside bolts holding the taillight in place
Second - unscrew the two on the outside part of the tail (remove the covers first with a flat head screw driver)
Third - Remove all the bulbs by turning the base counter clockwise.
Fourth - clean the whole taillight with some dishing washing soap or what have you, make sure its completely clean because if not debris may fall down onto the tape when your applying it. BTW i used palmolive aroma therapy *deeeeeep breath* smells good LOL...
*Ooh Ooh dont get water into the housing now so becareful how u clean it.*

Fifth - apply soapy water, i just put it in a little bowl and used a cotton ball. apply substantial amount you want it to be enough to move the tape around if you missed aligned it
Sixth - peel off wax paper and apply start from one side, i prefered the outmost and worked inward to the reverse lights. use your finger to smoother out the bubbles works better than creditcard..
*CAUTION* DO NOT COMPLETELY LAY THE TAPE DOWN UNLESS YOUR ARE COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE POSITION, OTHERWISE WHEN TRYING TO PEEL ONE OF THE EDGES BACK UP YOU WILL CREATE WRINKLES AND FINE LINES AT THE EDGE.
Furthermore, for perfect fit u can always touch up the part that curves upward with a x-acto blade.. becareful u dont really need much pressure and u dont really need to cut it all the way... just barely break the tape and peel it off.
Viola your done! make sure you smuthered out all the water let it sit for awhile and reinstall the talilight.

definately give that section a try for the all red look, D2 had this done to his tails and it looks so clean with the all red. But overall your DIY is great and the work looks great, it being a tad off is nothing cus how often do people really get that close to taillights? great work over all and nice write up.
