Hey Folks. When driving my GS in Pwr ECT mode, I notice that my 1st gear seems to shift a bit prematurely to my liking - maybe it's normal, or not? I always have the option of manually shifting the car of course, but was wondering if this is normal, or due in part to the car working out the "demons" from previous poor maintenance.
When I bought the car, the air filter was completely clogged with dirt, which probably restricted air and changed the ECU settings and possibly the related shifting characteristics of the car as a result? I have since replaced the air filter, reset the ecu (twice) and changed the tranny fluid.
Thanks for any feedback on whether this is operating by design, still in "exorcism mode" or plain messed up.
Kev

you have no control over the 1st to 2nd shift, not with e-shift or the pwr button. if you floor the car completely it will shift at redline, but otherwise, depends on driving habits and how much you floor it the shift point will be lower
