2nd gen GS members, please read
With the advent of the third generation GS and a lot of activity in thaf forum, we in the CL back office have been thinking about making the main GS forum an 'empty' forum with first, second and third gen subforums under it (and we would do the same for LS, IS and RX that have a similar issue). Everything in the current 'main' GS forum will be in the 2nd gen GS subforum.
After the change, if you clicked on GS models from the main forum, it would just list the sub forums similar to these https://www.clublexus.com/forums/regional-clublexus-forums-16/
All three of the sub forums (for each generation) would be listed on the main forum page a subforums you could click directly on. Once you get into the forum, it would look as it does today, but you wouldn't have the first and third genaration GS sub forums. If the 2GS forum is the only (or primary) forum you read, you can bookmark it directly as well to save clicks.
The pros: much easier for new members to know where to go, more conceptual and easier to understand. Will unclutter the main page with fewer subforums listed.
The cons: Could be an extra click for you if you don't select the 2nd gen GS forum directly from the main page (at least until you get used to it or bookmark the forum)
Since the 2nd gen GS members are the largest population we have, I wanted to give you a heads up about the change in advance. Please give us any feedback before we make the forum updates in this thread.

The only second click you'll have (assuming you select the 2nd gen forum directly from the main menu) is if you wanted to go directly to the subforums for engine, suspension.

I like the new idea, it's more logical. I think it would be really convenient and would save the extra click if is the main forum page list changes to something like this:
GS430/400/300 Models -> subforums --> 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen
Currently it looks like this:
GS430/400/300 Models -> subforums --> GS 1st gen, GS 3rd gen, suspension & brakes, engine & transmission.
GS430/400/300 Models -> subforums --> 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen
Currently it looks like this:
GS430/400/300 Models -> subforums --> GS 1st gen, GS 3rd gen, suspension & brakes, engine & transmission.

I may add the years of each model to the subforum description to further clarify for new members.

doesnt sound like that big of a deal. also members can add the second gen forum to their "favorites" bar, to ensure 1 click. I have my control panel in my fav bar, I never click the forum links, I only use control panel, view new posts, and every now again I'll click the tires / wheels / or GS button
