- 2nd, from what i can tell he did not paint the housing correctly...

IMO the best way to paint them is to remove the chrome paint by getting some 600-700 grit sand paper and sand it off...then clean & apply primer paint about 4-5 thin coats ....finally paint it to what ever color desired a few layers as well... i personally prefer low gloss black over flat black

obviously he did not do the correct procedure b/c i see the chrome under from all the chips

this would be my amateur opinion: now for you to repaint the housing, i would stay away from paint remover at all costs i know paint remover can eat some plastics so better safe than sorry. just do the stated above procedure for the housing... BTW make sure u do the painting in a non-air circulating enviroment... i did my painting in my garage with the garage completely closed, just take ur time and walk slowly out the garage and close the door slowly.... u dont want particles landin on the housing.... to be extra careful use a laundry basket and cover the housing when letting it dry. i would be more worried about free particles landing vertically downward on the housing then a particle floating diagnal and landing on it. and a laundry basket is pefect for that

edit: i take that back it is jbweld... its just that he mounted it the shroud crappy

You are right. The Projector Shorud was mounted pretty badly which is why even if it was kool when the unit was shipped, it broke off during transit. And those lights was packaged pretty damn good! I disassembled the light, unmounted the projector and repaired the shroud. And I will be mounting the projector back into the Headlight today. I'm gonna take pics. Not so pissed today...LOL

Good job...glad to see that you were able to save it. Very impressive work, I definitely would not have been able to do it. hehe

I still think you should contact the seller and try to get a portion of your money back since you had to put in extra time and effort.

I'm using H7 bulbs until I get some HID Ballasts. ideally, I'd like to get some lexus ballasts becasue I can mount them right to the bottom of the headlight!
Hopefully the seller will give me some cash back!

Thats one of the reasons why I dont buy online from other people before looking at items before hand. I have seen numerous people/friends get ripped off by thinking the item(s) they where buying where in good shape and when they get it shipped it a total 360.
