Default Seat piping is cracking???

Folks,
The vinyl piping/trim on my driver's seat is starting to crack/split - does anyone have an innovative solution for fixing? Filler, etc.

The seat leather is in fine shape so I would rather not replace at this time but the piping split is driving me crazy.

Many thanks for any help...

Eric

I don't have an answer for you but mine is, too, tho only the driver's seat. I suspect you'll have a lot of attention paid to this thread..............

i dont think there is a solution to this but you can wait and buy the used leather from someone else.

Do You mean buy someone's used leather for the purpose off cutting off the piping and somehow applying it my current seat?

There has got to be some kind of "melt it & apply/fill" solutiuon.

Thanks,
Eric

I think he might mean that once the GB for Leatherseats.com finishes and peeps start getting their orders, there might be some stock leather seat covers going on to the classifieds. Then, you could replace the entire seat cover.

The piping is cracking on my drivers seat only and it drives me nuts. Its only in one area and the leather is in pretty good shape. Is it possible to replace the piping itself without replacing the leather.

Default A fix

OK - this sounds stupid but it worked...

I superglued the piping "back together". We'll see if it holds over the next couple of weeks.

Good luck,
Eric

That could be the answer as long as the glue doesn't bleed throught the leather

I don't think the SG solution will work; I may have lost some small segments of piping at the site of my cracks since the gap is 2-3mm. Doubt any glue will hold under tension (or another segment of piping could/would crack if it were weaker than the glue).

Mine is the same way. If the cracks were close togethor I wouldnt worry about it. Does anyone know if just the piping can be replaced?
