Default Where and what kind of paint did you guys use to paint your housings???

so i used the search function and read up on ppl who have painted their housings..

im now wanting to paint my housing gunmetal grey, i noticed alot of you guys have either a dark grey to black paint. im wondering did any of you guys use special car paint or was it off the shelf spray paint? the reason i ask is because i hear fumes can haze up the inside of the lense when it gets hot if u use the wrong paint..

i know aloha03gs used GTR gunmetal grey.. im assuming thats car paint off a gtr ... i really like that color so where do i get this stuff!!! or something similar

also if reuse my reflector dish would it look funky to leave it with the mirror finish?

Use dupli-color from napa or autozone or pepboys. Fumes are only a problem for those who rush things and dont let the paint dry up for a few days. Use a clearcoat like I did on sofias headlights because it gives the paint a more oem look. I used dupli-color clear coat even though I got oem lexus paint. Becarifull when you paint because different angles will give you diffrerent results. And as far as the clear coat goes make sure to use light even coats instead of a couple thick once that will give you a very nice shine.
