I don't think it is you Bob. I see the problem. Let me look into it.

Brembo's have been used for OEM and racing for decades, nuff said.

AP Racing has been used in some of the most competitive forms of racing including Formula 1 and Motorcycle racing.

Can't go wrong with any of them. I'd say the deciding factors are bang for the buck and looks.

Thanks for the reply. I have heard really great things about all the kits so I guess I really cant go wrong with any of them.

Default Beautiful!!

Great pics!! (saw them yesterday, can't see them today )
I'm curious to see if the new tires will solve your traction "issue" ! Not that you're concerned with mileage, but I've heard people only getting 8-10k on the rears. I guess that's the price you pay for the traction though...speaking of price- $340 list on tirerack!
I'm surprised at how light these tires are for the size-nice bonus
Time for some 1/4 mile runs now?

I will do some 0 - 60 runs after our meet coming up. Don't wanna risk breaking anything or tearing up the tires just yet. What I can tell ya so far is yeah I think you are right . I heard that these tires were light for their size. Don't know how Michelin accomplishes that but couple that and the fact that the HRE's are some of the lighter 20's available and all I can say is that my car feels definitely faster than before with the old Enkei 19's (which were known to be heavy). Maybe I can have my cake and eat it too? From what I can tell, I am able to launch from stop lights and the car just pulls like heck. I used to be a little light on the gas cause I would chirp the tires or kick in the VSC.

So far I have not experienced any of these problems and I'm launching harder than I would ever try to before.

A side note for those that don't know, Yes I have LSD and TC and tranny mod and 285 Michelins before, so when I say I am taking off light, it 's not what most people would define as light.

The other item of note is that my overall tire diameter is still very close to my 19: set up. So I don't feel the loss of power that most people feel running 285/30's in the rear. This was the main reason for me not going to 20" rims until now.

This is definitely feeling like I am getting the best of both worlds.

I'll try to take the car to the strip in a couple of months or less. Should be interesting.

As far as tire wear, I had my previous Michelins for 4 years and they still had decent tread left.

Like Henry said, I don't put on a ton of miles, so the impact of the cost of the tires is not that significant for me.

I'm completely jealous, Glen. I'm lucky if I get two years and I don't even drive 30K in that time frame.

I just got my alignment done right (I hope) by a custom shop here in Maryland. They said I was way out before, but they got it in where it's supposed to be. We'll see.

Allright! I can see them now!

Man, the brushed finish looks fantastic with the silver. This totally changes the look of your car!

Glen, an outstanding stable of Lexus vehicles. Nicely done.

The 295s look hot... but I might have to do you one better with a 305/25-20...

... or maybe I'll just go to 21"

Hey hope they do as good a job as the shop we have here in NorCal. Shoot me what your camber and toe settings are.

I drive my car almost every day in the summer, but my commute to work is very short. Once winter hit's I try not to take her out.

Thanks Bob, you're right. I don't even think it's my car when I walk up to it.

Well if Michelin ever releases a 305, I'm there.

You're always pushin the envelope , and if anyone can make 21" fit and look "Right" I know you can.

I can't feel bad if I'm being topped by the wheelmeister!

Here's a pic of Jawnthen shooting my car. His artistic eye is a skill I don't have. We must of waited around for over an hour before he felt the sun was at the right angle to shoot my car.

Default Rear Wheel Well Shaving

Here's a view of the inner lip of the wheel well before I continued shaving. You can see that I actually have half of the rubber trim shaved already to clear the old 285/19 tire set up. Now the lip has to go all the way.

The first step was to remove the entire rubber trim piece. If you stay with 285 size tires and don't go with 11" wide rims, you can probably get away with just shaving up to the mounting screws like I already did and leave the remaining rubber lip attached.

For 295 or wider tires and an agressive custom wheel offset , this trim will have to go.

Here's what's left of the inner lip after the trim is removed.
