Default GS430 Debadged (procedure, photo)

Procedure
Heat badges.
Use monofilament (fishing line) between badges and body.
Remove excess adhesive with goo-gone and fingernails.
Buff surface with Maguire's Swirl Remover, which has just enough grit to remove residual outlines.

Why?
Because we don't need no stinking badges.

Oh. And today I started the car with the remote starter. The entire car tilts when the engine fires. I LOVE that so much.

I would also recommend that if you have to use goo gone a few times, as I did to buff the paint in between the applications of the goo gone. Some sections had so much glue residue left that I had to go over it 3 times with the goo gone. I know this stuff is supposed to be safe for paint but I didnt want to chance it

How about this:

Did that a few days ago. Two 12" blue cold cathodes wired to the side marker. So convenient that computers and cars both use 12v.

Is there any way to turn them off or are they just on when the side markers are on?

At present, they obey the side markers. I am considering a switch in the cabin that will also permit sound-driven operation. It wouldn't be easy, and I'm not sure it would be so cool.

No badge most people will assume you are driving a 300 and wish you had the 430. I leave mine on just to let you know

Default Cathodes, debadging

The blue looks really nice, now I want to buy some just to buy them, not for the grill though, the police wouldn't like that.. You should post instructions on how you did it.

I plan to debadge my CLK320 & maybe the GS3 but if ther were 430s I wouldn't. It keeps them guessing but like dude said most people will figure u have a 300 as there is no way to tell the difference.

I'm on here tonight looking at chrome tips, your GS like mine really needs them.

i also would like to do this but my gs4 is a 1998. I fear the mismatching of color when I debadge. DO or DON'T?
