Default Lexus of Rockville contact CEL VSC/VSC OFF

Does anyone have a connection at Lexus of Rockville in Rockville, MD? I need to take my car in for service because I am getting the check engine light, VSC/ VSC OFF problem that has been discussed so much here on CL. I think the consensus is that it is likely the throttle position sensor? I really am not crazy about having my car at the dealer because I don't know how careful they are gonna be with my paint and other goodies. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay to have this repaired.

Thanks, Mark

Since you're in VA, why Rockville? Would you consider Lindsay Lexus in Alexandria?

My girlfriend lives near Rockville and would be able to pick me up from there if they needed to have the car for awhile. Do you know someone at Lindsay?

This seems to be a pretty common issue with the GS. So why is it that when I was explaining the problem to the "Service Advisor" she acted as though she had no idea what I was talking about? It seems they would have encountered this before plus she didn't sound like they really wanted to work on it since I have aftermarket equipment on the vehicle. How much of a problem is an SRT intake for a mechanic?

Yes I know a great guy who will watch your stuff. A former detailer and Dent Wizard Master Tech (which he was when I met him). He's been at Lindsay for about a year and has all the old guys nervious.

As for the pickup, they (Lindsay) were trying to establish a 100% service loaner policy. That might be for warranty work, I'm not sure.

If your interested, just call Lindsay's main number and ask for James Wood in Service. Tell him George Hoyt recommends him. He'll tell you what he can do on the loaner.

George

I've heard that Rockville service absolutely sucks and the Silver Spring branch isn't far behind. I would stay away from them.

I HAVE heard though, that Lindsay is pretty nice.

I take mines to Lexus of Annapolis for regular work and Lindsey for body shop purposes. Matter of fact my car is at Lindsey's Collision center right now gettin some work done. I also had that same problem and took it to Lexus of Annapolis and they told me that I put my key in and turned the ignition simultaneously and that caused the lights to come on. They had my car for about 15min and when I got it back the lights were off and haven't come back on since. No mention of TPS and no charge.

Default Rockville service

Unfortunately I agree that the Rockville service is terrible at best. I always had trouble with them. I would bring synthetic oil for them and they would foregt and put regular oil among other mess ups. I always dealt with the manager Chris. He seemed to be very understanding and attempted to make me feel comfortable. I don't know anything about Lindsey, but if I have to take mine to a dealer I take it to the Lexus in Pohanka Lexus of Chantilly. The best service in the area in my opinion.
