Clear Cover License Plate Frame
Althought I've never liked licnese plate frames, I'm thinking about installing a chrome license plate frame on my new GS300. Anyone tried the clear cover frames and specifically the one from Weathertech? I'm looking for a high quality but simple chrome frame. I'm concerned that the clear cover frames will yellow or fog over time. If this is true, then I just want a high quality chrome frame. I'm not looking for one with a logo.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have both the clear cover over the license plate and then a metal frame on top of that. I've done this for several years because tag theft. Some theifs were getting so brave that they would cut out your license plate metal with the tags attached. This way they could later peal of the tags without risk of damage.
Now I live in an area where tag theft isn't an issue, but I've come to like the look. So I still have it.
BTW- For a different look, try a front clear cover that is smoked, which is a better looking imo. However, you may need longer license plate screws with all this hardware.

I think the clear housings look funny. I like a nice clean, plain frame. I got mine at Target.

I have a clear shield, I got it because my TX plates came in bent! they were just pressed with a slight bow and you could not pop it out! so with no frame, the plate was all sorts of sticking out on the bottom. Putting the clear shield over it held it enough to make it look flat. And no front plate, had the body shop fill the holes in the bumper cover so the front is nice and smooth.
