Japan Rear taillights for 2001-05
I am ordering from Japan to upgrade my '98 GS400 taillights to 2001-05 version. My friend emailed me to ask for the FRAME no. and MODEL no. to identify the correct part. The Toyota dealer was aking for this information. Any ideas?
Wait a minute, perhaps the correct taillight part number will help and be more straight-forward (assuming part numbers are the same in US and Japan versions).
Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the 01-05 taillights (like the ones I have in my sig)? If so, why don't you just call or PM Steve (SupraTRD?) at Carson Toyota and see if he has any in stock, that's where I bought mine. Great price and service and you probably don't have to wait for the shipping or pay shipping costs if you're close enough to pick them up.

Aren't the Japanese versions the same as the US versions? You can just order it from Carson Toyota, they have the newer version of the tailights and they have pretty competative prices, plus, you won't have to deal with having them shipped from Japan.

Well, you guys all made some good suggestions. I originally called my friend to get me the rear main taillights for the 2002 Toyota Aristo in Japan. She called back to say that the dealer has them but wants to verify my car's Frame No. and Model No. Price in Japan is $200 iincluding tax. No shipping charges as I will see my friend in a few days.
So if you have the part-number (left and right), I think that will be cool. I also looked into giving them the JZS161 designation but it seems to me that it only refers to the second gen body style of 98+ model years that include the 01+. I don't see any newer or different code for 01-05, unless I'm mistaken.

hopefully somone can get you the numbers soon. i just got rid of my 01 taillights so i can't get the numbers...
and for 200 bucks that's significantly less than carson toyota
but seriously, if it's from 02+ aristo, i think it shoudl be fine. make sure that includes the new harness too

When ordering parts here in Japan they will ask for what amounts to the VIN and Engine number to verify the correct part for your car. Unfortunatly they can't match US spec as the number for Japanese and US spec are different. So just make sure you specify the particular year Toyota Aristo; you won't go wrong. $200 is also a great price!

I just saw a set for sale on ebay. They are used but the write up said pretty clean. There is 10 hours left and its at $152.50. Item # 7978543510. Also a new set for $289.00. That auction # is 7979757382. .
