Well, Ed, I will have to stay skeptical until a kit is produced. A business will do things that makes sense to make $. You can spend time to research parts to get a baseline price but once you put things together, it may not all work out. Then it is more R&D. So as an individual, (unless someone have SO much knowledge and experience to get it in the first try and if this person does, I'm sending my car to this person now ), it is hard to hit the cost mark without "wasting" money on some unused parts. As a shop, the same R&D needs to be done. After all it's said and done (and we don't even know what it is yet to make it RELIABLE), the cost may be right at the limit. As a business, there is no point in giving the kit away at cost other than to blow them out at the end. There will be a margin or profit to be made.

I seriously doubt they can sell 1000 units to make up the margin. I'd be surprised it they can sell 100 units.

After reading and talking to a number of people who went FI (kit or custom), I have yet to see an install at $5k. There are always something that needs to be tweaked. The SC430 kit is pricing out at 7500 and I am not sure if it is completely released yet. And even if so, there is no way to tell on reliablity yet since we have not seen years of use on it.

If LMW can do it, power to them. What is being asked (power at price point) just seems tough to do if not just a tough business decision.

I want to thank everyone for participating in this thread. Luxury Motorworks contacted me tonight and have made their decision. As soon as the logistics are finished, I will post info regarding the new setup, pricing, specs and fuel management. Thank You all....
