Hello all. I know I posted something about Mega White Fog Lights a while back. Well I finally put them on and they are really nice. I am not sure how bright the 9006 Whites are supposed to be, they don't blind ya, but they a good HID type white. Not too shabby considering I paid only $10.00 a piece for them from www.classicgarage.com . I forgot who asked me to post once I got them on. I can say I purchased the PIAA 9006 HID/SuperWhite(returned them the same day I tested these which was tonight. I wanted to make a fair comparison). The PIAA seemed just a tad brighter, but the color was not close to the HIDs and for $75.00 a set - hmmm. These bulbs are blue coated with an 85 Watt Rating and are good enough for me. Like everything else, they are made in Korea.

Wanted to post in case the person who asked me to post wanted to know the results.

Anyone have any experience with the Koito Bulbs? I heard they are really white.

Thanks.

Khanh

What's up Knguyen,

STAY AWAY FROM 80W BULBS!!!!!!!!!!!

You better be careful with Korean made bulbs, they are low quality made bulbs. When I bought my GS (about 2 1/2 yrs ago) i tried Korean made bulbs at 80W and within 3 weeks I noticed that both of my headlights kept on going on and off So i bought it to my dealer and it turned out that these bulbs BURNED all of my wiring in the car. Would of Cost about 1000 bucks to be fixed

Thank god i took out the bulbs before i went to the dealer. Lexus fixed it under warranty. Took about a week to fix
Stick with name brand companies-PIAA,RAYBRIG,PHILIPS
I use PIAA Super Plasma bulb about $120. I tried a lot of bulbs and these are the closet to HID. For pics of my car with the PIAA's
Go to the GSgalley and look for pics named DSC0024,GS3NEWGRILL,and CLOSEUP as of today(6/26)they are on page 5

Yeah, $10 bulbs are $10 for a reason.

Cheap bulbs have a tendency to blow up and then you have either take apart your housing and clean it up or buy a new housing...not worth it for a $65 difference.

Plus, as Cams said, if you fry your wiring, it's going to cost quite a bit to fix it...also, the brands he pointed out PIAA, Raybrig, and Philips are brands you should stick with...

Which PIAA's did you buy? There are SEVERAL different varieties of lights they sell...some are a little whiter than stock and some are really white...

I use them for Fog lights not headlights - already have HID.

I placed Dielectric grease on them and kept them on for a while to see how hot they got.

So far not too bad. I am aware of that burn out wiring stuff. I will probably go with Koito - I heard they are the best - Steve at Carson said he has run them for a while. I think I want brighter than the 80 Watt bulbs I have now.

Thanks for the help. If they do burn, I will just put the other ones back in for warranty

I think I might for for HID fog light conversion kit . Got any good suggestions for that one?

Like I mentioned in some earlier posts.

Korean made lights
1) Poor quality in terms of longevity
2) Best bright/white light u can buy !
3) Use 55 watts
4) Cheaper

Piaa Lights
1) Excellant quality in terms of longevity
2) Not as bright/white as Korean ones but close
3) More expensive.
