Rattle noise. Help me figure what it is.
Hey guys I installed my exhaust about a month ago. I heard a slight rattle after installing it. It wasnt until recently that the rattle sound got worse. Im not sure if its the exhaust or something else. But I tightened all the bolts and checked the hangers and dont see anything that would be hitting or can cause a rattle.
The noise of the rattle sounds slightly heavy and sounds like metal. The weird thing about is that I only hear it when I make a right turn or at freeway speeds when I hit a bump. At normal city speeds I dont really hear it even if I hit a bump.
So far I checked my exhaust, bolts, and hangers. And checked the jack and accessories in the spare tire in the trunk all of which seem secure. So Im puzzled to what it may be. Anyone with ideas or similar experiences.

i have a similar problem right now with my blitz nur-specs...
im not sure this is your exact problem but mine rattles because the exhaust is making contact with the control arm on my driver's size... when the car is turned on.. the exhaust rattles on the arm causing a loud rattling noise... mine dies down and comes back randomly... i haven't had the time to get the piping bent so that it wont hit... but it's on the to-do list.

check your exhaust hangers and see if they are worn or have excessive play. when u hit a bump the weight of the exhaust against the hangers might cause them to travel enough to hit the undercarriage of the car. this would give you the banging noise u hear. when u are stationary u can lay next to the car and give the exhaust a tug to see how much it travels, try doing this in a few different spots and see how much play u have. if there is a lot of play then u probably want to change the hangers (they are rubber and wear out). also check and see how much clearance u got between the body of the car and the pipes, maybe u can loosen the bolts and twist the pipes for more clearance, that is if they are not welded, hope this helps.

i don't know about you but i had the same problem on my apexi. three possibilities, all with the left pipe/muffler
1) the pipe is hitting the differential. check on it
2) the muffler is hitting slightly on the edge of the rear bumper/wheel well area
3) the mufflper tip is hitting the exhaust opening
get under the car and shaking the whole exhaust system, you will hear the noise if it's there

You hit the nail right on the head with this one. Its the left pipe muffler that is hitting the differential.
What can I do to make it stop? Would did you do to resolve yours?? Anyone with suggestions?

1) the exhaust hangers are too soft, allowing too much play when the car is turning.
2) the pipe is too close to the differential.
1 is very hard to fix, there are two hangers basically, one i nthe middle of the pipe, but that's pretty stiff. the other one is all the way at the end, and that has little to do with this rattle.
for 2, i just bent the whole pipe away from the differential. yup you read me right, i bent it. after i bent it, it will clear, but the left side of the muffler will hit the side of the bumper/fender all. i cut that little piece of plastic and it clears. but then sometimes the exhaust tip might hit the exhaust outlet. i jammed a piece of plastic in the rear hanger to push down the exhaust tips a bit
now i have a perfect system

Seems like a lot of work. Did you or a shop bend the pipes? I'd like to have this done cause its a little annoying hearing it all the time. Do you know if Exact can do this or do you have a recommended muffler shop around the bay?
