What do you guys think? Something that will resist water, grime and extreme heat.

Better yet, go to Pep Boys, Kragen, etc. Buy engine block enamel, comes in a bunch of different colors and finishes. Around $3.50 a can; resists heat and rusting.

I went to pep boys and bought engine paint 2 years ago. I then painted my front brakes but never painted my rears because I was too lazy. After two years of use, the front brakes look horrible. I painted them black too. The part right in the middle turned this redish black color and looks just as bad as the stock green color. I'm gonna repaint them soon but I wouldn't recommend the engine paint. I stumbled across a brake caliper paint set in a recent car magizine I bought. I have to look for it but I'm gonna order that instead of using engine paint again. Trust me. Do it right the first time.

Found these paint kits:

This stuff is pretty cheap, but who knows:

The pic of the painted caliper looks great!
Here is a stupid questions, do you need to take the wheels off to paint the calipers, or can you paint it through the wheel spokes using a lot of masking? Also, was LEXUS painted on using a template or is it a sticker?

Thanks,

GSman, YES, take off the wheel. Here's the thread about the calipers and where to get the stickers.

Hope this helps.

Default Paint for calipers

Andy,

I think I saw a similar paint for the calipers. I saw it in a catalog I get from the Eastwood Company. They also have the DIY powder coating kits. I think its www.eastwoodco.com

Look guys, do what you want. But to spend $30 to $40 bucks for caliper paint, when I spent $3.50. Well, I'm sure the expensive stuff lasts a long time, but I painted my calipers almost a year ago right after I got the car and they still look great. And I still have lots of paint in the can. Just paint them once a year. I'll attach an image of my cheapo painted calipers almost a year old.

Sorry guys, guess you can't really see the calipers. But with the same can, I painted the hubs too.
