I've been in a side impact wreck in a GS. You just can't beat the Lexus build quality.

Glad you are ok!

Wow that is crazy at how bad the damage is for your speed huh? Glad you are ok though and I always wear my seatbelt as well but you know what, I have this awful habit of taking it off when I enter my street and my gf was just yelling at me the other day about it. After seeing this I may keep it on till I pull into the driveway.

I flipped my LS400 on the freeway 3 years ago when by a freak coincidence, someone next to me blew out a tire and took out my rear quarter panel, causing me to go into a flat spin on the freeway. All the airbags went off, and I too walked away from the accident while the police and firemen who showed up were like wtf, we were expecting you to be way more hurt, considering.

Lexus sure builds some solid cars, I replaced the 96 LS with a 97

Thank God you and your girlfriend are fine.

I guess the traction control didn't help you out? And by the looks of the car upside down , there seems to be plenty of meat on those sport tires. JUST 40mph you say? Gee by the pics, the road looks pretty wide and I see a long straight away If you get my drift, (no pun intended)

Hope the insurance Co takes care of you. They'd better!!! Paying insurance in Boston Mass on a luxury vehicle even with low step points is like paying another car note. Trust me I know!!

Thank God you and your GF wasn't seriously hurt. I read through your post and when I noticed you flipped. That was a serious accident. It 's amazing that much damage from sliding on water. Very sad to see your GS sustained that much damage. Good Luck

Glad to hear that you both are ok. Actually you know what.... since the airbags did not go off, you maybe able to go to lexus and get a new car out of them. Since they will not want a suit ... I have a friend who had a similar air bag problem and was able to get a new lexus for free!. Unfortunately he was not in the US, so I am not sure what lexus will do for you over here.

thanx for posting the pics DMODSTI, i couldnt get it to work
i have about 1200 miles on 275/35/19 SO-3. i thought they were good in the wet . but there was, alot of water on the street. i can usually hit that turn at like 60 mph gunning it all the way through the turn, and then flooring it all the way down the straight away.its a brand new road.the turn is actually alomst like an S,bscause there is a slight right hand turn before entering the left tun out.this is all coming from a stop at a red light only a short distance b4 the turns.but those dam dprinklers in the middle of the turn is not cool.speed limit is not posted and the water has been running since 3am. and they were still on almost 12 hours later.since it was the 4TH ididnt drive fast because i didnt want to get a ticket that day(just wanted to enjoy the 4th) .saw mad stateys out the day before roaming the highways and parkways around boston just pulling carsover left and right.
Make sure ya'll wear seat belts when ever u get in a car.it doesnt matter who's driving because u could get hit by someone else. accidents do happen.just be save on the roads.
these pics are proof that seat belts do save lives. or the least severe body injuries.
