RacingAristo,
after you installed the S-AFC or swift ecu, when you remove them, you just have to reconnect the wires back to where it was before, there still be a cut in the wire...
I think as long as you have a clean connection, then no one will care if the wires had been cut

Default KNKGS400

if you read the thread carefully, you would have discovered that the lexus dealer do not want to see you cutting into the ECU wires, basicly now, they have a reason to refuse the warranty work, it's up to them to warrant you or not.

you will not have any problem with smog test. You need to pay the dealer to prove to them that the mod you did to the ECU is not the cause for the warranty work.

I would remove the SRT ECU and intake before taking to the dealer (just me...)

Hey Ray,

I will try the S-AFC on my GS but give me the link for a good deal. Also I am going to try it on the swift intake without the ECU and also try the WeaponsR as well.
What do you think would be a good set-up

Good deal........ 295 shipped a few weeks ago on GroupBuyCenter is the best deal in the US that I've seen. Now it's like 325 or something shipped, but still pretty good. Some places it's 350 plus tax and then shipping!

SRT with ECU is a gurantee gain, but I don't think that it's optimized with EVERY TYPE OF EXHAUST there are on the market. S-AFC with RMM/Weapon*R will probably be best for long-term results.

I haven't decided which intake I should use, though I don't have many choices, either RMM or Weapon*R in my knowledge, I would call XS Engineering and see what they would suggest, maybe a custom-make intake or something.

Here is a bit of casual reading for everyone "scared" of warranty and aftermarket parts, upto and includeing ecu, superchargers, etc.

www.sema.org/warranty

The main thing here is to become educated.

PS. Also note that, the federal law states that once a part is certified as emissions legal then the vehicle manufacturer MUST honor the warranty EVEN if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction.
Remember knowledge is your most powerful resource, the main thing is to be well versed with the law and your dealers will leave you alone.
Also note that if you take your car in for service it is illegal for the dealer to note that you have aftermarket parts in your cars records and say anything in the nature of warranty being voided, if your dealer does this you can outright sue them BECAUSE it is completely illegal.
