The only intake that's going to make any difference in power is the Swift Racing HFI/ECU combo. It's a piggy-back ECU and intake and it's like $700...www.swiftracing.com

Anything else is really a waste of money since they don't do much of anything...

Weapons R has a intake for the GS300 right now. As far as HP goes. It is about a 8-10 gain. You really can't get to much with an intake but does help out.
The price is about $300

From what I heard, Swift Racing intake gives you the most gain in power and torque compare to anyother aftermarket intake.

but please notes that, since you have a 2001 car, putting Swift racing intake in requires you to cut into the ECU wires. ===> be very careful with this, since most dealer will refuse to warrant your car. maybe you may want to wait for a year or so to do this...

but which ever way, you make your own decision...

I have the intake from Swift and you still need to cut or tap into the ECU wires. So on a 2001 model would be the same except that its a 4.3L. I don't feel a big difference that I was hoping to given that it was a 30HP gain. I feel the power with the TC than with the intake. As i said before, you can' except toooo much from a intake system. You will however feel abit more power.
It really depends on how much you are willing to send on a intake.

As for me, I am saving to get the Tom's complete ECU

SRT intake is really good because of the piggy-back ECU that optimizes the intake. Another route you can take is by going with Weapon*R or RMM, then use an APEXi S-AFC to tune it. Downside: no one knows the result yet. Might be better, might be worse.

As far as I know, TOM's doesn't make a ECU for the GS400. The only thing they got for the 1UZ-FE is for the LS.......... a don't tell me you're getting that!

I saw the ECU from this site that Steve takes orders from. It shows the ECU for the GS400. If its not the right one than I will just wait cause it will come out soon.

We all have to just wait and see what new things will come out. I still want to see a TTGS400. Maybe one will come out this year.

<sigh> We don't have many choices for GS430. I wonder how much Tom's computer is.

i think Steve just make a mistake on the TOMs ECU......... there's no GS400 or GS430 in Japan, let alone designing a ECU for the unreachable market overseas.

............. NO ECU for gS400 or 430......... just wait guys, when TopSecret finishes that turbo kit maybe you guys can get some real BEEF!!!!!!!! (you guys have real pork now....... I have real turkey.)

that application list of the T.E.C.S roms doesn't have it. It's only logical that they don't make one.

Also, i don't see any good in those computers. they're not easily tuneable like APEXi PowerFC, and the TECS is designed to optimize a STOCK GS300 (stock V300......... Barrel exhaust with TECS rom you can get 50 hp.) So I don't think spending that much money on a ROM is worth it, at all. Rather just get things like AFC, ITC, etc etc.

IMO replacement computers are pretty bad investments unless you can really optimize your car with every step of mod you make.

Once I install either S-AFC or SRT ECU, is there anyway to go back? Because I will remove the unit once I'd like to trade in my car. Thanks!
