Default Molding Wald Lip kits

Hello my 2nd gen brothers,

I decided to post here since I am hoping for more input.

Do you think I should mold my wald kit onto the front and rear jdm twin turbo aristo bumpers?

At first I was thinking about just installing them, but after talking to Lexus GS3 on the phone he informed me about having them molded for a cleaner look.

The only reason I can think of in forgoing the molding it is that I have a black car and it would sort of make the kit stand out more.

Thanks guys!

Molding a kit on always makes it look a whole lot cleaner - but the cost of painting and molding is a big factor. If you can afford it then I would definitely go for it,

honestly, i always have said yes but with your car being black it will flow very well just bolted on.

I would say definately mold the kit. I also think it is a cleaner look, and the wald is such as clean kit. If I decide to get the wald kit I am going to mold it

Visually, I like full replacement bumpers so molding on a lip to get this effect is preferable to me. I am reluctant to do this, however, because you are basically using more material to combine to separate pieces. The junction is the weak point. The front bumper is something that gets bumped all the time, especially if it is your car is your daily driver. I am pretty careful but my bumper does get bumped at times.

I am always worried that a hit big enough will crack at that weak point, which translates to repair and repaint. I know there are plenty of people who have molded their lips and have not reported any problems so maybe I am just being overly cautious. I am facing a similar dilemma right now so I know what you are going through Bryan.

I'm a fan of the molded look on black. Had it done on the last install of my (former) TTE lip and it made a big difference IMO.

No issues whatsoever. I don't think I took any real bad curb whacks on it, but definitely a few scrapes. I suspect the Wald lip may be a little lower though

Thanks for the input everyone and I welcome anyone else who has a say.

My friend insisted that I do not mold it because if i crack the lip, it will require painting the whole bumper. Where as if I just bolt on the front lip and say I crack it. I can repair it by taking off the front lip.

I would not let the difference of $150 difference in painting stand in the way of molded v's unmolded.

Mold it!!!
