Do you know what AAA South pays their locksmiths? Between $19.00-$23.00 for car unlockings. We are a backup provider for our area and we only take the key originations because that is where we make the money.
When we get calls for high security vehicles (BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc) the price is $150.00-$250.00 (keys in trunk are more, night time is more, etc) and we will deduct the amount AAA pays us for the lockout. It doesn't matter if it is a Basic or Plus member... they still pay the same very low rate!!!
When a club such as AAA only pays those kind of low rates you get (typically) clowns that drive around in a Geo Metro unlocking everything with a slim jim.
Take care,
Tami

Hello,
I locked my keys in my car once with the car running.
I tried to use a hanger and hit the power unlock switch. After a few hours I called the police. They reffered me to a tow company. You get the police discount if you call them first. $40.00 and took 2 mintues to open. I had a good tow guy.

Here's the only catch: The security system will get VERY mad when you do this, it will IMMEDIATELY relock the door, and the alarm will go off. You will need someone to open the door from the outside the split second the lock is flipped on the inside.
There is a special tool to pick the lock from the outside, but I only have seen one person with it here in the US, it was specially made by him from someone in Japan. This pick took holds open the outside sides of the opening, and has the pick sections on the inside with a small lens and light to see in. Most locksmiths won't be able to pick the Lexus locks.
Hell, if you can get the bladder thing to open the door, you can just put a magnet tool to get the key off the seat!
Another tip is to have a spare key made, cut down the head so it's not the full width, maybe only like 1/2" to 3/4" wide. Just get electrical tape and tape it completely up to a harness underneath the car, there is no way anyone but you would know it is ever there.

A locksmith used the two of those air bags and got me out of a jam, it took some time but she was able to use that flexible bar to open the lock. My problem is that the "remote on/off" switch on the dash keeps getting hit by my knee and for some reason, my master key will not unlock my driver or passenger door, it only turns in the "lock" direction and so that is why I have been locked out twice, the second time being this morning and it is a nightmare.
Has anyone made one of these air bag things? I would like to make one and open my door instead of calling out a locksmith again but do not know if the parts of the air bag and little inflater thing can be bought at local stores.
