Just fixed mine using these bulbs: http://www.mcminone.com/product.asp?...%5Fid=25%2D060

These bulbs are rated 8V and 80mA. I believe the originals were 8V and 100mA but don't quote me on that. I read somewhere on the Es300 forums and found that info about their Pioneer systems and I just assumed ours were the same. If so, this would mean these bulbs are slightly dimmer than the originals.

The bulbs are soldered to the back panel of the LCD assembly but were pretty easy to work on. They're a tiny bit bigger than the original bulbs but they seem to work just fine. No modification to the circuit board was needed to make them fit and I used the existing green bulb covers. The result was not exactly like the original but good enough for me.

your best bet is to get a car audio shop to check it out. and call your local dealer to see if it is a bulb. if it is a bulb a car audio shop should have no problem swaping the bulb for you. but i think if it is the green displsay itself you would be better off trying to buy a used radio somewhere or buy a new one for lots of dough. or now would be a good time to upgrade to the doubledin unit good luck

and watch putting vinyl dressing on your dash thats what causes these bulbs to fail the dressing gets into the cracks and shorts out your bulbs thats why i dont put any kind of dash dressing in my car

I did my climate controle with LED's too. I used drumnbass's DIY to give me an idea of what I needed and how to do it. It turned out to be really easy. I used green 12v LED's It looks really good only problem is my bulbs keep burning out. I've had to change six of them already and it's only been about a month. I only did the buttons. My bulbs behind the LCD were still good so I left them alone. Plus I think if you use LED's behind the LCD it's a little too brite. At least that's how Drumnbass's pictures look anyway. By the way, thanks for taking the time to do that write up Drumnbass. I'd have never attempted it other wise. Now I can take out the climate controle, take it apart, sodder in a couple LED's and put it back together in about ten minutes. I hope this time I a good bunch of LED's that wont go out on me. I think the radio would be the same as the climate controle. I wouldnt use LED's, it'll probably be too brite. Unless you like it that. The bulbs behind the climate controle had a greem condom type thing on them. Good luck.

its easy to change the radio bulbs. there is 02 bulbs, located in the PBC board behind the radio display. just desolder those bulbs, and replace them by LED and resistor (560ohm) in series

I was talking about the buttons in the climate control, although the bulbs behind the LCD are the same and if I were to have swaped them out with LED's it'd have been the same process.
