On my way to work today i stopped at a light right next to a white GS300 same body as mine (2000). When i looked over i noticed that there was little logo on the fender, and when i asked the girl next to me to read what it said she said it had PLATINUM written all over it. Now my car is a fully loaded black on black GS300, but I WANT A PLATINUM LOGO TOO!!!!! Anyway what does that mean?

I have the platinum edition GS400. I'm not sure if platinum was available for the 300. Anyway, it's just a GS4 with options that came standard - HID, Navi, Moonroof, Heated Seats, Gun Metal colored emblems, etc. I bought mine used, but if I bought it new, I would have received a Chase (?) Platinum credit card also.

Platinum series only available in 2000 on both GS3 & 4. It gets you HID, yellow wood (bird's eye maple), black pearl emblems, 6-spoke platinum wheels, and possibly perforated seats. I almost got one with nav.

i have a 2002 gs300 sports design..has the blackwood,piping on the seats,perforated seats,black pearl embelms..but the salesman told me the suspension is different now is this all BS or is this true?

The exclusive SportDesign model incorporates perforated leather-trimmed seats in either charcoal or black with contrasting piping, a special black-stained burled walnut trim on the shift ****, doors and center console, and a brushed-aluminum type console panel. Uh yeah you would...But your car and rep so do with it what you wish. Kind of like the guys who put the GS400 emblems on their car and you peek in and see no E-Shift buttons on the wheel (maybe not that bad).

In your case, chances are most CL members and people with a Platinum Series will know the difference.

So you have the items on the list DaveGS4 posted? The crucial ones are:

- Bird's-eye maple interior trim and shift ****
- Perforated leather trim on center section of seats
- 16-inch, seven-spoke performance alloy wheels
- Black Pearl badging
- Platinum Series embroidered floor mats

Ultimately, if you like the badge, do it. Otherwise, leave it off (which is what I'd do).

Although it has never been officially confirmed, the word is that the SD package came with the L-Tuned (KYB) shocks. The springs, however, are not L-Tuned since the car sits at OEM/normal height.

lol.. i would like to think it is true..what do you guys think? (dont mean to be a pain bout this)
