Default Auto-Leveling Headlights into 2000 GS300

Hey guys,
I have a 2000 GS300 w/o HIDs.
I bought a brand new set of 2003 HIDs with Auto-leveling.
Is there anything I should look for before installing?

What do I have to do for the auto-levling to work (or is it possible)?

Anyone done this before? Easy/Hard?

Thanks in Advance

From what Ive heard its pretty hard if not almost impossible..There are sensors on the front and rear wheel that orient the headlites. The work involved in running the wires and sensors keeps most from doing it..Possible...Yes...Easy...NO!!!!

Damn, that sucks!
What about install? Will I be able to use the Headlights and HIDs minus
the Auto-Levling feature?

You might as well sell those babies.....it's going to be a pain even trying to get them to work.

There has been lots of discussion in the lighting section on this. I would like to do the same thing. The harness is different on the non HID GS's as well. That is why most go with the kits or the retrofit setup. Let me know if you get it to work.

that really sucks.
I just paid $950 for these.

I guess I'll post it on EBAY and the classifieds then.

bro, you can get them to work, check the lighting forum, it has been done many times. The Auto-leveling though is going to be a tough one due to the extensive wiring and all. Not sure if the GS is the same as the LS, but the LS has a autoleveling ECU above the glove box which im sure you didnt get, along with the other wiring.

Look for lexusondubs' posts in the lighting forum.

it'd probably be feasible to install the the lights and live without the auto leveling

You can easily install it without the auto-leveling. Like the others said, auto leveling can be done. It is just not cost effective in terms of parts and time. I asked a dealership once and they did not even want to do it. Obviously if you paid them their price, they would but even they were hesitant to do the project.

A lot of info on the install is in this thread:

Thanks guys.
My friend just told me the same thing, but I think I'm done with the GS.

Parting out my car (not much to it) and looking for a GX.

Thanks!
