Default New wheels/now a wierd "humming" noise . . . normal?

Hey all, thanks to those who were trying to help me out with wheel decisions about two weeks ago. I finally got some wheels. I love'em. But as soon as I drove out of the shop I noticed a slight "humming" or almost like the sound you make when you blow across the top of a bottle to make a noise. I dont' hear it when I open the windows, but it is definitely audible inside the car. I was wondering if it could be the air running through the wheels making the noise. Any one else noticed this? I dont' want to complain if it's normal, but it's a little annoying since my car was so quiet before. The ride itself feels great, I was expecting a much rougher ride with 20s.

I'll take some pictures of my new car tonight and post them. They are kind of different. They're Gianelle 5-shots if you are familiar with them. http://www.wheelspecialists.com/inde...l&wheel_id=467

Any input would be appreciated! Pics to come.

Pirelli tires, size 245/35. My pics are too big. I have to figure out how to make them smaller.

What you are hearing is road noise. I have 20's on my car. The original tires that came with the rims were Yokohama AVS Sport. The tread design on the tires were really nice, but the road noice was horrible. As the tires started to wear, it actually got a little worse.

I am not sure as to how the road noice is on the Pirellis, but the noise you are hearing
(which is the road noise) comes from your tires.

When my Yokohama's were worn out, I payed a bit more money and replaced them with Bridgestone Potenza. The tread design is not as nice as the Yokohamas, but its worth it no to hear the road noise.

I thought it might be the tires, but the sound is not constant like you would expect from tires humming on the road. It kind of comes and goes (but isn't gone for more than a second or so and then it's back). it's a very creepy noise. Almost like your in an airplane or something.

I hope that's what it is. I'll drive it again tomorrow and see.
