Yah...the Optima batteries are smaller than the stock ones......my red top came with a red plastic piece about 1 inch tall....that covered the entire top of the battery....took that off and used it to prop up the battery so i could secure it down with the OEM anchors.

Go back to your Optima dealer and see if they have the adaptor to raise your battery, if not try Sears, it simply snaps onto the bottom of your battery.

Default huh?

what tie down ???
seriously mine is sort of psudo holding the battery. I figure when I have a chance or just find something to make it beautiful I will worry about it. I mean if i flip im not worried about the battery doing a flip.
Battery in the trunk is a different matter. I used the side mounts as supposed to the top mounts. Small chrome staples are holding the battery in place.

really? held down by god and gravity?

this all started with me negotiating a speed bump last night... heard a big "thunk" in the engine bay, stopped, pulled over and found that the battery had shifted out of the tray

Usually...red is enuff for the ordinary ride....but if you got huge wattage in your sounds system....then the yellow is for you.
