Just wondering what method of financing did you do to buy your GS. Did you buy it with cash or do bank/dealer financing. The reason I am wondering is because I have found it vey hard to try and finance a GS with over 80,000 miles on the clock. Any response, or advice and tips would be helpful.

I'm surprised that you're having trouble financing. If your credit is decent and your buying in-state you shouldn't have trouble finding a credit union that will finance you - unless you're buying a late late model Lexus. The lender may only finance a certain amount of the purchase price such as low blue book without options but if you shop you'll find a car that meets their price requirements and your car requirements.

So you suggest a credit union, thanks for the advice. My credit is in great shape, but Capital one auto wouldn't do it. I'll try some in state credit unions and a local bank. I was thinking a "98 GS4 or GS3 I know its a late model Lex, but do you think it is so old banks look negatively on that fact?

Hey, I know used car financing is predicated on many things. But when you guys say you have problems financing late late model GSs, do you mean cars past 5yrs old? or were you just referring to 98's because they're 8yrs old. I'm trying to get clear on this as I have previously only purchased my cars cash and am strongly considering financing an 01 GS 430 (hopefully). Also are any of you guys doing 60 or 72 month financing? I've seen 96 months but I don't think I'd want to go that long although it all depends on when you pay it off. Thanx in advance

I think majority of the banks put limitations on used car loans. i am also in the market for a used GS (98 or 99). Certain banks will lend you the money as long as the car is 3 years old or newer. You just have to check around. A lot of times you can find deals on the net and see if the dealer can beat that interest rate. But to get the best price on the car cash is the only way to go.

I financed a 99 with 95K on it and got a 60 month loan without any problems, I don't think you should have any problems. You just have to find the right bank. I would try lendingtree or credit unions, they usually find the best rates because they work with multiple banks. Also I heard that M&I banks are really good on giving out loans for used cars.
Good luck.
Good luck.
