My GS sounds like a Diesal Truck :(
Do you guys have any thoughts why my GS3 has a whiney/whistling sound whenever i start it up in the morning? It goes away though after 30 secs. Does anyone else have this problem? What is it? thanks.

Mine's doing the same thing. Started about 45k miles, now at 65k
Some silicone spray once in a while keeps down the squeaks...but I really should buy a belt.

1- belt is getting old and it squealing because its slipping
2- belt is loose/misaligned because the tensioner pulley is going out and you'll need to replace it
EDIT: granted the pulleys might need a little lube once and awhile but if u find urself spray belt dressing and lubing the pulleys all the time its more than likely the belt or tensioner pully

not sure what u mean by v-ribbed but heres a diagram for the removal of the serpentine belt on a gs300. its the only belt you see without removing any covers, the timing belt is behind the engine cover.
