Car dealers in CA
I have not posted much on here...here is my situation:
I have just a few payments left on my subaru, and afterwards i am planning on purchasing a GS400 ('98-99). here is the problem...I live in WA, and so far i have seen only 2 GS400's black on black under 22K with reasonable miles. Now, I have also checked out cars for sale in LA area, and i have found at least 10 cars that have everything i want and they have very good prices. I have heard my friends say that a lot of dealers in CA are shady and it's better for me to puy the car in WA. I need your opinions on this matter...is it safe and worth it to buy the car out of state (most likely from CA). I would not wat to fly all the way to CA and end up getting nothing because the car is total POS (because dealers will always say that the car is in perfect condition). Any input on this would be appreciated.

Hey man,
I have personally bought my last 3 Lexus's from the other side of the country. I have gone to New York twice and San Diego once.
We have enough great members on here - and a huge amount from California that I am sure would be more than happy to go look at a car for you.
I have had several guys do this/offer to do this for me.
Don't limit yourself to WA.

I bought my GS430 in Ohio (from PA) and couldn't be happier.
I did have a lousy experience trying to get one in DC, though. Called the guy, agreed to a price, told him I was coming the next day. I get there, and he says they just sold it...but he has a white one. Right. You lied to me and wasted my Saturday, and I'm going to buy a car from you...
My trip to Ohio was more successful. Told the guy I was ready to buy, made him check that the car was really still there, agreed to a price (provided there weren't any substantial issues), drove out with a friend, drove my baby home.

That's great to hear that I might be able to have someone who knows these cars to look at one when time comes.
Hopefully I will have my new toy in teh driveway by christmas time...it'll be my present
