Well thats good. Does the difference in motor placement affect it if I wanted to take out the entire motor assembly and replace it with this one painted?

and no one has any idea if this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting

works description states 11 wires.

Thanks again,

Chris

Good info Pete. Any pics of the differences?

Yes....your 98-00 motor will NOT mount on a 01-05 shell. The placements of the mounts are different.....not sure if it will fit in there too.

I suggest buying an entire assembly...whatever year....and use that....cuz the differnece in the shell is barely noticeable...unless ur a GS enthusiast.

Well I was planning to get this one painted. I'm leaning more towards entire assembly. THe problem with this one is I have no idea if this is a mirror with memory. The owner doesn't know either, they just know it has 11 wires. Any idea from here?

I'm hitting up national salvage yards now and getting a few results.

This ebay price will probably be a lot lower than salvage yards so I want to make sure this one does or doesn't fit as entire assembly plus I would like any assistance when it comes to finding out if this has memory or not...

Thanks PHML...been very very helpful

Chris...

If you getting a mirror with 11 or so wires....my bet is that it got memory feature. Here's a pic of my side mirror wires...

ok well found one nationally. 310 shipped light green metallic...

So hopefully this ebay one will be cheaper =)

No matter what I'll have to take it to a paint shop..and then remove exisiting assembly and plug and play...

Are paint shops able to just order lexus paint or lookalikes?

car is pretty old and doesn't have that new white look if you know what I mean. But i guess a clean white mirror on a fading white car is better than no mirror at all!

Just make sure the shop color match the paint to your car instead of just spraying the factory color.

wow. I'll contact the seller. Might be a newb question, but what is a puddle light? I don't remember any lights on my lexus mirror.

Thanks for really looking out!

Also paint shops everywhere say expensive because it's pearl white. cheapest was 80 but most around 120-150

so just thinking...one more week or so on ebay...no wins under 200 than I'll just go new for 470 plus 10 percent off for CL members... painted from lexus-parts.

puddle light are the light that shine onto the ground...i guess there is puddle light on the underside of this mirror.

If thats the case, it may be a mod where a hole needed to be cut into the shell....and you dont want that....i'd continue to shop around.
