first impressions of 02 gs300
I picked up an 02 gs300 with 29k miles for $24.5 (benefit of working for a car dealer) and all I can say is WOW. The ride is much better than expected. Though the car is somewhat slow due to it's weight (had a 400+ awhp STi) I can't get over how well it drives. Another perk of having a Lexus dealer in the autogroup I work for is getting the employee rate of $40 per hour. The 30k service set me back $345.00. I plan on simple mods like OEM hid's and a better stereo. I have always told other people that "A Lexus is just a glorified Toyota" and how wrong I was about that statement. I hope to learn from the forums like I have in the past with the STi and S2K. Heading out now to get the windows retinted with Huber Optik. The car is stock so it's not worth posting pics. It's the "sport design" version and I am sure you guys know more about the car than me...

welcome to ClubLexus.
if you have the sport design model, you already have factory HIDs. your housing should be a titanium color. look in front of your headlight lense and it should say "d2r" which stands for the type of bulb it uses. if you don't have this, take some pictures of your car and i'm sure everyone here can tell you what you have.

Hey, cool, I just bought a 2002 GS300 too.
Mine is bone stock and likely to stay that way as it's my commuter. Stock rims, stock engine, going to tint the windows and that's it!
I believe you and I share the same mentality about having the glorified Toyota sensation stripped away once you drive it for more than 10 minutes. The Lexus is an awesome car and I'm please to death about how it drives, how I feel in the car and the quality of the car. I sure is nice not to have to row gears and bounce down the road like I did in my last commuter (2001 Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel 3/4 ton 4x4).
I do think nobody would object to posting pics even if it is stock.

Easy...I still have a 2004 Dodge truck in the garage! Cummins Turbo Diesel modded and all hopped up.
But...I did sell my 2001 Dodge CTD to get the GS to commute with. Yeah baby.

I am 100% positive that the lights are not HID's. I had them on both the STi and S2000. I also forgot to mention how well the A/C works. Just got done hardwiring my Passport 8500 and a K40 laser defuser. Head unit is next (ddx7015) and then speakers at a later time.
