Put both Lexus' on the road and leave the MDX in a garage. Call your insurance agent and confirm what type of coverage you have, say a prayer and head for safe ground. Assuming the MDX still is under warranty (and not a Lex), seems like it's the most expendable. Either way, stay safe throughout all of it.

depending on available time before the storm approaches.....if I had a couple days I would get a tow package put on the RX at U-haul or some place similar, and use it to tow the MDX since the tranny in those can suck. One person drive the GS, and one person drives the RX towing the MDX.

Short of time, just take the GS and which ever SUV is worht more currently.

In Europe, they use tiny econoboxes to tow. The GS will take it just fine; it has plenty of suprlus strength built into its tranny for full-throttle jaunts. My father used to tow a 3000 lbs sailboat with a FWD Chevy Celebrity auto (2.8l V6), and it did just fine.

i post this in the GS forum because the GS is the one with the biggest engine/most power of the three, so i'm particularly curious what you guys think about using it to tow the RX300 (which i think is the lightest of the three vehicles). can the transmission handle it? or do you think the less powerful SUV's are more adept to tow the GS??? neither the RX or MDX have tow packages.
and yeah, i'm considering taking one of the vehicles to the airport parking garage and leaving it high up in there.

Reason why you should not tow with GS:.. Power to pull is not the problem. The problem is that when you pull there are times when the trailer pushes you as well. If the situation get desperate mkae sure you get a trailer with active brakes.

Do not exceed the tow rating on whatever vehicle you use.
Maybe in this case of an emergency, the coppers might look the other way, but the insurance companies won't.
I've seen it before, guys towing 8,500 pound boats with a 1/2 ton truck with a tow rating of 6,500 pounds getting pulled over, the coppers flopping out their portable scales and then busting the guy. Tickets and then a hauling company or a buddy with a bigger truck to tow his boat the rest of the way. Maybe it's just an AZ/CA thing, but be careful.
Brakes, liability, tow ratings, spring ratings, tire ratings, be safe about it. You'd be surprised what stuff weighs when you are towing it after you've got it loaded down with gear and "stuff."
