Best tip I can give you is do light coats. not just one heavy one. go light let it dry and keep giveing them coats until they are all blk.

heres how the came out afterwards. I had to take the whole mirror apart to get it fully oem like...handles all came off easy. the viynl paint works great on the leather handles it actually is very strong...

u just painted it? it looks nice.

A, I noticed you did paint all your pieces. The one thing i don't have to worry about is mirrors, b/c i replaced them with tv's wrapped in black leather. What did you use to paint the rest of your pieces? Did you ever paint the buttons or are they still tan?

John
same here! bluelex's one is really nice....I like it cuz its black....but I also like JT's one cuz it appear to have the stiching....

Default adhesive

Bluelex,

What did you use to adhere the headliner to the actual roof? My stock headliner is sagging a lil by the sunroof. I have tried to use what looks like velcro but the adhesive failed. Sorry to hijack but I can't seem to find this anywhere. The black suede looks nice as well, good option for older headliners to update them. Nice work

Thanks

Did you do your own, or a shop?

I had a shop do the headliner and pillars and everything else. I did the handles, panels, mirrors and such by hand.

I have the stock headliner and I would just like to re adhere parts of it to the metal roof. I have not switched headliners at all but after seeing those pics I might consider it. That looks just simply great. I just need to know what to use wether it be an epoxy or double sided tape, but alot of these store bought adhesives will not stand up to the heat that a roof in Texas will see. I proly will just ask a body shop around me then restick the parts that are loose with what they recommend.

You can't ask Jon what the price was. I am sure the price as everything else is, is far less than here. I think I remeber him saying that his custom kit was cheaper than most kits here that are already produced.... crazy.
