Paint thinner would probably work, though I'd think Goof Off would probably work better. You don't really even need any sort of chemical. The paint will come off with just a razor balde or a scraper of some sort. But a remover makes things alot easier.
Why not try the paint thinner and see if it works and then let everyone else know. I highly doubt it will hurt the girll.

I did mine today, very easy process. I used the Jasper Paint and Epoxy remover, $9.00 a can at Home Depot. I also used 00 metal polish steel wool to shine it up a bit.
