Marty: yep, I read it, interesting to say the least, it just doesn't answer my question:

in reference to your comment about a new battery making it crank faster....

if the engine cranks any faster than it does now (immediate startup), then when / where would the 'delay' you reference be?

if its normal, then I can leave well enough alone; it just seems very odd to me that its 'normal' for the delay; the added time to each crank, I would think, would tend to wear excessively on the starter over the course of several years, that's all

Knguyen: nope, not really, just different than anything else I've ever experienced, and wanted to be sure all is well with the GS4......like you, no other car had done it

And I don't want to get any flames going here, but take what any service tech tells you with a grain of salt (at least I do unless I can prove it to myself beyond a reasonable doubt); any time one tells you

'yeah, that's normal, fugeddabouit'

he really might be sayin, 'hell no, I don't want to look at your car for you, moron'

they aren't getting paid directly by us for each service they complete y'know

ANYWAY, it seems to be the concensus that it IS NORMAL, well, at least its happening to several people, not sure if that makes it normal or acceptable.....

I'll figure it out.

Have agreat weekend all!
