Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but it has got me a little curious. Is there anyhting wrong, by wrong I mean anything bad for the car, if you keep the ECT button down all the time while you drive? My brother has a Camry and he just leaves it on, but on my GS I only put on for when I'm on the highway and stuff like that. Just wondering.

nope, causes no problems that I am aware of. I think a lot of people here on CL leave it on all the time too. I just raises the rpms of the shift points for more spirited acceleration.

Also, downshifting occurs at smaller throttle openings (I'd say "quicker", but they don't happen any faster, just with less right pedal depression. For that matter, you can flip the switch on the fly.......aren't computers and electronics miraculous things?
