GS - 2nd Gen (1998-2005) Discussion about the second generation GS300, GS400 and GS430 (1998 - 2005)

How hard is it to find an all leather steering wheel for a 01 GS430?

Just wondering for the folks who have NAV on their 98 - 00 cars if they like it or wish they had not gotten it. My concern is the radio and climate controls bundled with the nav and it being a pain to operate the radio and climate via the touch screen rather than the traditional button set up.

Aren't the NAV on the 01-05 the same way? Anyway, I personally like it separate. My MDX is integrated and I don't like to have to toggle back and forth. Others here, though, loves the fact that it is integrated for a cleaner interface/look.

Now that I have NAV, I will not get another car without it (if I can help it).

Nav is the one option my GS doesn't have. If I were somewhere other than Alaska I would agree 100% with you. And my problem may be similar for folks elsewhere in the world. We only have 3 highways up here and the towns are small enough you couldn't get lost even if you tried!
I'm not sure what else NAV provides the user but if it's just directions to point B, then it's pretty much an expensive, useless add-on for this part of the world. Don't get me wrong, when we were back in Colorado visiting relatives, I sure could of used directions to get around in the father-in-laws car. But if the car spends 90+% of it's time out in rural America, why pay for for NAV?

Haha. I see your point.

I am in Northern and Southern CA all the time so Nav is pretty useful. Just like real estate, it is about location, location, location.
