2005 skipped?!?

Check my sig

Thats usually how every car company does their model releases though. 2005 model year right now but the 2006 version usually comes out around sept/oct 2005. Only thing is Lexus pushed the date waay early to March '05 for the 3rd gen GS.

The 3rd Gen GS was brought out as an early release of the 2006 model unveiled not in Sep/Oct as is customary but more like April or May of 2005. All 3rd Gen GS's even those sold in the first half of this year were designated 2006 models. The final 2nd Gen GS's which were built to use up the remaining stock of parts that were on hand were absolutely unchanged from 2004 but did run over into 2005 for a very short time. Check the assembly date on your vehicle, odds are if it was built in 2005 it was Jan or Feb. After that the assembly line was changed over to the new 2006 model. If you check production volume numbers, you should find that 2005 was practically an afterthought, with very few units built and, as mentioned, no changes or improvements introduced. Just a few remaining 2004's which didn't come off the line until early 2005 and so were called 2005 albeit in very limited numbers
