Squeaky Steering Wheel..different from previous thread
My steering wheel just started squeaking when I first get IN the car and TURN the wheel. In the other thread about the squeaking steering wheel, those people were having a problem when they were getting out of the car. I am not having any problems other than the squeaking. Tilt works, telescopic works, it just squeaks.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Will the Sta-Lube work for this also?
If so, what do I lube? You know me, if you tell me what to lube, I will do it instead of taking it in. Sorry, I didn't learn my lesson with the timing belt replacement.

In the TSIB for the 99 LS400, I saw the part number for the Lexus grease, but if you look next to it there is a reference to another product - Sta-lube p/n SL3174 or equivalent.

I don't know if this will work on the GS, but it definitely worked for my ES. The problem is that the dust boot in the steering column needs lubrication. Not exactly sure what the part looks like, but this was what I was informed when I took it into a dealership. Seemingly, this problem occurs more often under cold and bitter conditions.
