come on bob. think of it this way. if you don't do it now, it's even harder for you to do it later on when the car is "done" right?

but i can understand your concern. i totally agree that if you want to do it well, dealing with the door as well is a must, otherwise it won't look smooth

either way, get 5" lip

Damn, sucks to hear that happened to you. But, that huge list of mods makes me anxious to see what it'll look like in the end.

it's always nice to put things in perspective. glad to hear you're ok.

wow, a list of mods everyone here would dream about.

how about a special paint job to sets you apart from everyone else. since you're going to repaint the whole car, why not? I'm sure Backyard Creations has done plenty of candys and pearls in their lifetime.

good luck with the future projects and keep us posted.

Bob, sorry to hear of your misfortune.
It sounds like you are making the most of it. This will be one hell of a makeover.
Can't wait to see this next phase finished.

By the way, shoot me an email when you have the chance.

Update: car is finally on a truck headed to Backyard Creations.
Dealing with insurance companies sucks- it's been almost four weeks since the incident!

A few new things up my sleeve - new spoiler is on the way, test-fitted the new wheels earlier this week... my old Zone 3s will be up for sale in late November - the new tires have 200 miles on them!

3" lip on the front (with clearance for big brakes 20x9.5 or 20x10 with 255/30-20)
4" lip on the rear (tentative plan is for 20x11.5 with 305/25-20)

Waiting for new Yokohama Advan Sports to arrive... the new Falken FK-452 won't be out in these sizes until the 3rd quarter of 2006

I love to push the envelope with this stuff...

Bob,
Sorry to hear about your ride.

Sounds like you made the best of it looking at your list. Can't wait to see her finished.
Looks like a good reason to have a BBQ, for the unveiling, LOL

Not impossible... just aggressive! I might even go for 20x12 on the rear - I tested it, it is right next to the suspension when the car is in the air!

Stetching the tires solves all types of fender clearance problems... the new wheels actually stick out past the fender about 3mm.
I would say this car will have a "US-VIP" look. Was at SEMA the last few days and I got inspired. I just had a killer idea for the mirrors... SC430-style chrome strips with 5 small LEDs embedded in them as blinkers. Time to get to work!

Did somebody say BBQ? Sounds great!

Sounds awesome Bob.
I'm sure the car will look really, really good when finished.

Wow Bob, you have really gone big time aggressive on the wheels. Good luck with your sizes. Can't wait to see the final product. I feel ya about Sema. After I came home, I had massive amounts of ideas and plans for the ride. Ugghhh....

Maybe it's a good thing for my bank account that I did not go.

Bob, those wheel specs are crazy. I don't think I can be that ambitious on my daily driver. I'll just live vicariously through your project.
