Default UGO roof spoiler installed

It's too dark out for pictures but the UGO spoiler is now installed. The instructions were in Japanese but the diagrams were pretty much self explanatory. Used the included double stick tape. Fit is first-rate, and attachment seems very secure. Next step is the JP trunk spoiler that I bought when Steve at Carson offered those irresistable prices. Wish that boat was a little faster. Is anyone else waiting for parts from that sale?

I was asking around if the tape provided with the spoiler was the best way to mount it. Now I know when I get my UGO spoiler back what to use. THanks for the info

Well, I can't say if its the best having not tried or observed any other method. I can say it was relatively easy to work with and seems to be very secure. Time will tell how it holds up. It gets pretty hot here in the summer and the car is black. I wonder if there are different rates of expansion of the materials involved or differing amounts of flexion.

Thanks, Chris. I was a bit leary of using a polyurethane glue. Afraid of drips or runs. I recruited my wife and daughter to help, had one of them at each end while I checked alignment and position.

Cody, thanks. Will post pics when the sun is out. BTW, did you have to adjust for the additional weight due to the JP spoiler on the trunk lid. Any problems with the lid falling when open now?

Definitely, on both counts. As I recall he had a diagram which showed how to apply the adhesive around the perimeter in two rectangles leaving the center channel clear presumably for run-off. Keep the tape about an 1/8 of an inch back from the edge so it doesn't show after installation. Clean both contact surfaces thoroughly to ensure good adhesion. I centered the spoiler by making shims of folded paper of equal thickness and placing them at each end while aligning the spoiler. That way the gap between the spoiler and the roof trim is equal, about a 1/16th of an inch. Back edge of spoiler aligns with trailing edge of roof, not the rear windshield trim, so no overhang onto the rear windshield.
