Default My Kind GS People...HELP ME REMOVE MY TAIL-LIGHT!

Long story short: I need to, somehow, replace a bulb in my 2000 GS3.

I replaced a bulb in my fog light before so i figured that by removing the 2 screwes from the outside of the tail-light it would open it up. I was wrong. What do i need to do to replace my damn bulb? Do i need to yank it harder? Or is there something that needs to be done in the back throught the trunk?

Please help!

As I recall, bulb replacement does not require complete removal of the light itself. Just expose the backside of the taillight by removing the trunk liner. The light socket releases with a 1/16 turn , righty-tighty; lefty-loosey.

you will need a deep socket on an extension for the back.
I think it's a 9mm or something

-Remove Round plastic in trunk by the tail lights
-Unbolt the two screws Behind
-Remove two round plastic cover in the front of the tail lights and unbolt those (10mm)
-pull tail lights out carefully

Then go on a replace the bulb that is out.

yup, you have to remove the liner on the inside of the trunk, to access to other bolts. Its very easy though, and you can just pop out the clips that hold the liner (and pop them back in once your done). once you undo the 2 bolts inside under the liner, and the two on the outide (which youve already done), you just slip the tailight out slightly to remove the bulbs....

the two bolt from behind (after you take off the lining) are 10mm as well, and you need a deep socket for it

that will work too, to me pulling back the whole lining seemed to be a bit faster

especially if you take off those two round plastic cover, you definitely need a deep socket 10mm

What a PITA just to replace a bulb. My dummy light indicates one of my rear tail lights is out. If i tap on the tail light, it turns back on so that tells me it's just loose. I'd like to tighten it up to avoid burning out the light.

Reset the ECU and the light should go off.. I replaced a rear bulb in my ES a few weeks ago and the light stayed on until i turned the car off and turned it back on..

No i mean the light bulb in the rear tail light housing is loose. Its not illuminated when the lights come on at night. I have to bang on the light for it to turn on. Once the light turns on, the panel light on the instrument cluster turns off. I just need to tighten the bulb so i don't have to deal with it every morning.
